Mahek, Spencer, Stevii and Megan all dressed up for Julia's halloween party...In case you are wondering what they are - well, Mahek is obviously a baseball player - but the other three are wood nymphs. Don't ask me, I don't know... Posted by Picasa
Today we visited CENEP in Mandaluyong - this is a Childhood Education and Nutrition Education Program for malnourished children. Below, one of the girls is leading everyone in a prayer before we begin our Harvest Festival... Then it was right on to load them up with sugar in a rousing game of candy corn bingo!
Here is Stevii, Chase, Emilie and Davis, stringing donuts for "donuts on a string" game...

This little girl eyes the apple bobbing bin apprehensively. No one really wanted to get their faces wet, but everyone gave it an effort anyway. Posted by Picasa

A sign my friend, Kim, saw in a restroom on the island of Bohol, on a recent diving trip...thought y'all might get a kick out of it. Posted by Picasa
Today's trip to Divisoria...great fabric shopping. Everyone left satisfied with their purchases and thoroughly overwhelmed by the holiday crowds. Today is Eidul Fitr - the official end of Ramadan - a (new in the last 4 years) non-working holiday declared by our able Mrs. President to appease the muslim extremists so they might have a party for themselves instead of bombing others. Waiting for the fabric transactions to be completed. Notice the crowded hallways that you can barely pass through. Well, maybe you can't really get the full picture here, but it was crowded nonetheless...
My friend, Kim, loving the beautiful fabric.
Christmas is here!

Look at all the shiny ornaments! Yay! It's Christmas! And some yummy veges! We bought some delicious asparagus for P35 a bundle (that's a little less than 70 cents) and had some for dinner!
Crowded streets, happy people...
Bright umbrellas, smelly puddles...

Anybody know a boy?
Lanzones - pretty! (and yummy to boot)
Just another kodak moment...

Look! It's a beautiful butterfly! Chesnuts roasting on the side of the smelly street...
And a closeup for effect...thinking of doing this professionally...
This is truly the land down under (the tents)!

These are some pictures from the 4th grade Immigration day, where they picked a character of a certain nationality, dressed up and had to go through "immigration" at Ellis Island, just to get a feel for what the original US immigrants had to go through.

Here is Jaron, dressed in green, waiting in line to be called. She chose the part of an Irish immigrant, more specifically a mother with three children, whose husband had died on the journey to America.

Journaling about her experience at Ellis Island... Jaron and her "children" taking pictures with the immigration police...
Ms. Costa-Garcia's 4th Grade class has now officially experienced immigration!

So, I'm just driving home from the bazaar on Tuesday, sitting in traffic, listening to Michael Jackson's "History" and here' the view - post-typhoon - of a mangled billboard with some men climbing on it. I can only assume they are trying to fix it. So I zoomed in a little (below) because I could - it was really a parking lot - not a major highway - contrary to popular belief.
Jaron doing a cartwheel in our living room. She's taking gymnastics after school and is trying to perfect this move...

Here's Davis showing us his soccer moves...in my living room, where most kids do cartwheels and play soccer... Posted by Picasa
