A stop for gas on the way to the Killing Fields. Note the creative means of "pumping" gas. After some inquiry about the methods used, our driver told us this gas was smuggled across the Thai border and was a lot cheaper than the gas sold at major gas stations. Apparently just a little monetary compensation will put blinders on the eyes of policemen. Sounds familiar...
In the words of a poster we saw in a restaurant that benefits less fortunate Cambodian children "Corruption breeds Poverty". That pretty much says it all.

Our hosts at the killing fields - victims whose skulls tell the stories of how they were brutally beaten and murdered. There were over 17 stories of shelves in the Memorial building on the site of the Killing Fields - the new home for our hosts, whose misfortune brought us here.
